
Historical Significance: The stone serves as physical “evidence” of a local tale where the Devil visited the Maine town (timeframe unknown) and moved the immovable rock in exchange for a person’s soul.
Current State: The rock is part of the stone wall that surrounds the Scribner Hill Cemetery, next to the North Manchester Meeting House.
