Hello everyone – it’s been a while since The Ghastly Historian has regularly posted. Back in September, I posted that I was on a bit of a hiatus and would resume Ghastly News and Ghastly Images in October. They started back up, but then stopped again about halfway through the month. My spouse and I took some time around Halloween to celebrate the holiday (as well as do some sightseeing and get some much needed footage for upcoming Ghastly History blog posts). Other priorities have also put posting on the back burner. So I wanted to provide some updates on what’s to come:
- Ghastly News and Ghastly Images will resume in 2025 (Monday, January 6th for Ghastly News; Saturday, January 4th for Ghastly Images).
- Ghastly News will take on an “On This Day” format – instead of newspaper articles being showcased from random days, an article from the same day of its posted date will be showcased. It will still be articles primarily from U.S. newspapers, with some Canadian and English publications mixed in.
- The weekly Ghastly News recaps and monthly Ghastly Images recaps will be discontinued. It was quite a bit of work for little to no value.
- I am working on a new series! More details will be shared over the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
- In addition to a new series, expect to see some new Ghastly History blogs over the next few weeks.
Thanks to you all for your support, and if you haven’t already, check out my prior research to get a glimpse of what to expect in 2025!
